Flow

1. Monologue

Ask the audience for a suggestion. One player delivers a monologue inspired by that suggestion. After a satisfying amount of time the music director edits the monologue by playing music.

2. Tagline song

Another player initiates a tagline song inspired by the monologue and sings two verses of it. A tagline song is a song in which every verse contains one identical line. That line is often called the tagline.

3. First scenelette

After the second verse two or more additional players sweep edit into a one beat scenelette inspired by the song. A sweep edit is when a player walks or runs across the front of the action of the scene. The current scene ends completely and a new one begins. All this time the melody of the song runs in a loop underneath the scenelette. The player who sings the song edits this scene. It generally runs about 15 to 30 seconds. Then they sing the bridge. The bridge is the transitional part of the song.

4. Second scenelette

Then two or more players sweep edit again and perform a second scenelette, again underscored with the song. The player who delivered the monologue edits this scenelette again after about 30 seconds or so. Then they sing the first line of the last verse of the song.

5. Finale

Two other players each sing one of the next two lines. The entire cast sings the tagline. The tagline then repeats and ends the Tamale.
