Setup and Launch
Pick a slice-of-life situation: husband and wife getting a kid ready for school, two neighbors arguing over a trash bin, a cashier and a customer at the supermarket.
Prepare a list of emotions for the replays: terror, euphoria, shame, envy, boredom.
Play
- Play the scene in a neutral emotion for 30–60 seconds.
- Immediately replay the same situation in a new shared emotion. Don't repeat the text — repeat the gist.
- Third pass — another emotion.
- Debrief: how the same situation reads differently. Where a line stayed but the meaning shifted.
Key rules
Keep the situation and the core action. Only change the emotional engine.
Don't try to repeat the text word for word — you repeat the outline, not the lines.
The emotion is shared, not one per actor. Otherwise the logic falls apart.
Step into the emotion before the line starts — not midway.
