Story for Everyone
An attention and collaborative storytelling warmup: 4–6 participants tell one story in first person as if with a single voice. The word passes freely among actors — there is no fixed turn order.

Setup and Launch
Place the group in a semicircle so everyone can see each other and the imaginary audience. Optionally take an inspiration word or give the story a title to set a shared direction.
State the rules: the whole group is one person and one story, told in first person. The handover of speaking is not fixed by turn order and is not broken into "one word/sentence each" — participants take and release initiative organically.
How It Works
- Start: the first participant begins narrating in first person, setting the tone and texture of the story.
- Passing the word: the next participant continues the same first-person voice, entering at a natural pause in the storyteller's flow; avoid interrupting or cutting in.
- Shared focus: everyone stays engaged, listening for breath and meaning turns to pick up the story at the right moment; as a storyteller, notice when it's time to release initiative.
- Accepting facts: when you take over, do not cancel what has already been said (don't start with "actually, it wasn't like that"); accept the established reality and build on it.
Key rules
Continue strictly in first person and accept all facts already established.
Enter after a clear pause from your partner; do not interrupt or cut in.
Keep continuous focus on the current storyteller; pick up when you hear an exhale or a sag in momentum.
As a storyteller, release initiative in time — do not drag out the monologue.
