Flow
The Trip is organic improv: the show grows out of what the players do on stage.
There are usually five to seven players. All of them are on stage and involved the entire time β that is the key of the form. The show usually lasts 25 to 35 minutes.
1. Group game
A suggestion leads to a group game.
2. Morphing from game to game
The form of the show is a constant morphing of one organic game into the next. The team attempts to recognize patterns β whatever repeats β and to come back to games it has already played. Such a return is called a callback.
3. The occasional scene
There is the occasional scene. A two-person scene always features the rest of the group portraying the environment.
4. Ending
The show ends with a player stepping forward to get the suggestion again. The idea of the ending: the whole show took place inside the brain in the split second when the suggestion is yelled out.
