Oracle
A long form. One player is the oracle, the rest are the priests: they interpret in scenes what the oracle said.
Full description
Setup and Launch
Designate one player as the oracle. The other players are like the priests of ancient Greece.
Flow
1. A question from the audience
The priests gather an important question from the audience. That is the question the team explores.
2. The ritual
The priests create a ritual around the oracle. They attempt to put that player into a trance-like state. The ritual can go on for some time.
3. The oracle's stream
The oracle erupts into a stream of consciousness: non-sequiturs, gibberish, random thoughts. Some of it might in some way be connected to the original question.
4. Interpretation in scenes
Once the oracle is spent, the players interpret the oracle by creating scenes based on what the oracle said.
5. Answering the question
On some occasions Del Close encouraged his students to attempt to draw conclusions from the scenes and answer the original question, as a way to end the piece.

What did the author forget to say?
