Setup and Launch

Set up three desks and three chairs; prepare two laptops with covered logos and a harmonica in a holder. Ask audience members to lend a few safe props for the scene. Assign roles: the boss, the employee with the harmonica, and two 'provocateur' colleagues.

Explain the rules: at the start the boss gives the harmonica employee an absurd task (for example: 'Sort everything alphabetically'), then exits. Any harmonica sound is the signal for the boss's instant re-entry. The boss always scolds the harmonica employee and always praises the other two, even if they have done nothing. Music is not needed.

Play

The coach watches the safety of the props and makes sure the boss enters the moment any sound is heard. Keep the pace with short cycles and end on a strong comic moment.

  1. Start. The boss gives a short, ridiculous assignment and exits. The harmonica employee starts the task, trying not to laugh. The two colleagues stay in the office and prepare to distract them using the audience's props.

  2. Provocations. Colleagues use the found props and simple physical comedy to cause laughter (safely and without touching the face or harmonica). Words β€” minimal; the main trigger is the harmonica sound.

  3. Signal and entry. As soon as the harmonica sounds, the boss enters immediately, harshly scolds the harmonica employee for 'failing the task', while ostentatiously praising the other two. After a brief dressing-down, the boss exits β€” the cycle repeats.

  4. Escalation and finale. If desired, the boss slightly changes the task each time or adds absurd clarifications, raising the stakes. End after 2–4 cycles at the peak of audience reaction or a successful climax.

Key rules

  • Safety and hygiene: use a harmonica holder, do not touch the actor's face or mouth, check audience props for safety.

  • Instant boss entry: react to the quietest harmonica sound without delay β€” this maintains the game mechanic and pace.

  • Strict status asymmetry: the boss always scolds the harmonica actor and always praises the other two; any deviation blurs the joke.

  • Props must not become dangerous: do not swing large objects, keep laptops closed and logos covered β€” focus is on action, not brands.

  • Less text, more physicality: make provocations visual and brief so the harmonica sound remains the main comic trigger.
